Individual sessions : (with Ken at Truman Stadium & Truman indoor Center Belmont, Wi) Day 2 Dave North Diamond..
and cage
Day One is 3 hours of individual one on one instruction. We start with a live pitching session to get video showing pre lesson flaws. We also test your ball exit speed to give a base of speed and to show before and after line drive speed improvement. Distance improvement of course is easy to see. We explain flaws in your swing, then we detail the mechanics of how a proper natural power swing with a rotational base ...using the base of teaching outlined in our Swing Makeover Show. By learning to do the swing correctly, the flaws disappear on their own. The many tools such as the Gtee, Evil ball on the guide rope and all the training tools we make, such as Swing Simulator which you will receive, Evil Ball on the rope..etc.. are used in our teaching and are outlined and shown how to do correctly. We start with the grip and stance, and progress from the feet up to the head, drilling the parts of the swing. All the drills start at the base and flow into the next step, so there is a very simple and natural learning and understanding of the skills and drills needed to be a consistent and powerful hitter. We start the muscle memory teaching, but that is something you must master at home, HOWEVER, this is done more easily and with a better understanding of the show episodes, you will leave UNDERSTANDING how mechanics work , and how to drill PROPERLY, ..with that being the key to long term improvement. We progress from specific tools and drills to using the guiderope, Evil ball on the guiderope, the Tee work and finally to live pitching and a retest of your improved ball exit speeds. (how fast a ball exits the bat, which is a far better test of hitting than simply bat speed).
DAY 2...The second day of the lesson is at Dave North Diamond, Bret's field about 5 miles from me. Here we spend more time on tee and live hitting on the 300 foot field. We reinforce the day one teaching and start to develop these skills and muscle memory on live pitching. We do final exit speed tests and film live bp..a fun day to work on the new skills. Approx 3 hours....more live bp and limited take home drills day 2...This session is at Brets Field of Dreams Stadium and live at Truman Stadium..
Training Schedule: Day one starts at 9am and runs to noon or so....Day two starts at 9am, and is done at noon so you can make accommodations for travel home. We are flexible but this often has worked the best and beats the heat. Also allows a trip to Field of Dreams Movie site, and other local attractions near Dubuque, Iowa
What to Bring: You only need a water bottle, good batting gloves and a nice outfit. We may use you in a "Swing Makeover Episode" so dress nicely as you would like to be seen. Bring turf shoes , no spikes ...we will be using outdoor fields and indoor cage to train. Guests can come and bring a chair and book, nice outside shade. No toilets so for #1 we use the recyclable outdoors...otherwise, Ken's house is across the street for bigger concerns, lol.
All equipment, including DeMarini Demo BATS, are available to demo..no need to bring a bat! We supply Evil BP balls, TheGTEE along with the use of our softball field and awesome batting cage.

Wisconsin lessons are late May thru AUGUST... possible indoors Nov. thru March . Our home base is Truman Stadium...Truman is a small unicorporated town, surrounded by quiet farm country and Amish neighbors. The address is 22390 Truman Road, Darlington, Wi 53530..We own the farm and buildings but sold off the house. A picture of the driveway is on the bottom of this page. Drive up to the shed and grain bins.. Cage is in the machine shed and field is to the west of the shed ...You won't see it from the road...Ken lives across the street at 22303 Truman road. Dave North Diamond at Brets Farm is approx . 5 miles North of our Truman location.
We are located in southwest Wisconsin, approx 35 min from Dubuque, Iowa, 1 hour 15 minutes Madison, Wi, and roughly
2.5 hours from Chicago.
We have our own 3 cage indoor facility here, and our own softball field fenced at 307' and 400'. Its located on Ken's farmland, on which we raise corn and soybeans. Deer and turkey are common sights on the field during lessons. Our second field is about 5 miles away at Bret's farm. Its named Dave North Diamond ...after Pops from Woodlawn Hitting Club. Its a regulation field at 300', fenced and with a set of lights. WE do the refresher class there involving more live hitting here.
TO GET HERE:
Out of town athletes flying in, often fly to Madison, Wi..or Dubuque, Iowa...If you flights can be arranged, Dubuque is a great place to FLY into and STAY. This is an easy drive for a lesson with me. Dubuque is a nice river city on the Mississippi, with 2 Casinos, riverside dining, and Athletes often travel to Dyersville, Iowa, about an hour west from the Truman Location, and 20 minutes from Dubuque, Iowa, to visit the "Field of Dreams" movie set and baseball field. Unique experience, and the field has not changed for 25 years since the movie. No charge and you can bring a glove or bat and just hop on the field. Its like a sandlot...just ask those on the field if you can field then take a few swings...very cool...They have a small gift shop. Dinner at Tony Roma's outside patio overlooking the Mississippi River in Dubuque, or Catfish Charlies, right on the River in East Dubuque are nice spots...The Diamond Jo Casino or Q Casino have dining as well . Dubuque is a short 25 minutes on a 4 lane highway that run thru Platteville to Madison. Other interests close by, are Frank Lloyd Wrights "House on the Rock", near Dodgeville, Wi, very close to Truman and on the way to Madison. Or downtown, Galena, Ill historic old shops and dining. An hour south of Truman. If staying locally, Platteville is about 10 miles from the training facility and is a college town of around 12,000. The Annex has great pizza and an outdoor back bar which is fun and a couple hotels walking distance.
